The Sims is a strategic life-simulation computer game developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. It was created by game designer Will Wright, also known for developing SimCity. It is a simulation of the daily activities of one or more virtual persons ("Sims") in a suburban household near SimCity.

The Sims was first released on February 4, 2000. thanks a mil- i had this version before but window washer erased it- been trying to find it again..
i didnt need magic iso for this ne, just open with winrar, select all, extract to, open folder, open subfolder, scroll down, click the blue sims icon. even better than the one i had, which did not save. thanks again, peechie- downloading the one with the expansion packs right now!

ok so i downloaded it and then when i opened up the folder that had all the files i just downloaded i clicked on the RAR file which was The Sims 1 [Full] and it wouldnt let me do anything with it so i added it to Zip and extracted just the 1 file alone to a folder i made... i then opened the folder i made and it was still just the same file as before.... what am i doing wrong??

if you are getting a virus warning, check your settings. this and all downloads i have used from peechie are clean. either your antivirus prog is low quality (because kaspersky, sophos, and even norton didn't find anything on this one), or you just don't know what you are doing. and your pc must have already been shit, because neither my laptop or my desktop have any issues with this game.
so are you lying or just a complete noob....?

I downloaded it, but I am a noob at downloading game torrents usually its music or videos anywho I followed what was said but the Magic ISO keeps saying I have to purchase it and then when I write the file to my c drive like it was recommended my computer shows up saying that it is an invalid torrent...so if you could kindly point me in the right direction...my computer nerd skills are very lacking when it comes to torrents. I unextracted all of the files, and double clicked the SIMS icon with the two people and it says "could not find Sims data directory" on the top of that screen it sas Fatal Error. Am I doing something wrong? Someone please help me.

Ahhh nevermind Peechie. For those of you who are unable to save, set the compatibility mode of the game to Windows XP SP2 and if you're still having problems after that, run as Admin. That's how I fixed it :D good torrent Peechie

i dont want to sound really stupid but this torrent downloaded as a R00, R01, R0... R08 and when i try to open it, it pops up saying i either dont have it installed or im looking foe a new one.. i searched the trusted software website that might be able to open it and downloaded a DMg file called izip to compress the file, but not even that will install, it gives me another pop up and now im confused as to what to do.

Works fine for me on Windows 7 Extracted the rar, scanned with antivirus, and ran the .exe.

Everything works fine. At least, as fine as this game ever ran

Be aware that this is an old game, and the resolution is locked at 800x600 - it will be distorted on widescreen monitors.

@purplegummybearz you need to download WinRar if you don't have it already, then just extract the files to a folder of your choice. Once that's done, just open the folder and find the file that should be the only Application there (under the Type column in your Folder). Hope this helps!
